CCN-4 (Telecommunications Group) is responsible for access control into most Laboratory property-protected buildings and facilities in non-security areas, including the Research Library.  CCN-4 also controls access into some security areas within the Laboratory's security perimeters. Enrollment into CCN-4's Access Control Systems readers does not occur automatically upon receiving your badge. The procedure below describes the arrangements a badgeholder must make to become enrolled in access control badge readers for which CCN-4 is responsible. NOTE: CCN-4 controlled badge readers can be recognized by their gray color.

CCN-4 Enrollment Applies To:

1. UC employees (including students and associates) receiving their first DOE Standard badge;
2. Laboratory workers whose badges have an expiration date, each time they get a new badge as a result of the previous one having expired;
3. Recipients of any LANL site-specific badge, each time they get a new site-specific badge (e.g., Uncleared Foreign Nationals, Cleared Visitors, Uncleared U.S. Visitors);
4. Holders of a valid DOE Standard badge not issued by LANL (e.g., issued by Sandia National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory).

Enrollment Notification Procedure:

Provide the Following Information:

• Z number
• Name as it appears on the badge
• Expiration date (if applicable) - use mm/dd/yyyy date format
• Group
• Telephone number
• Social Security Number *
• Badge Serial No.

Once CCN-4 has been notified, enrollment takes no more than 2 hours. If the CCN-4 Access Control Systems Office is staffed when the request is received, enrollment generally occurs within 15 minutes
