Who does not Require a Badge
|
- Laboratory workers who do not intend to ever be on Laboratory property
and will not be at any other DOE site - this can include individuals
with a clearance.
- Casual U.S. citizen visitors who are in open areas or those property-protected
areas open to the public during normal business hours
NOTE: Laboratory badgeholders
must wear their badge at all times while on Laboratory property. [Laboratory
property for this purpose means all grounds and buildings within the
Laboratory's geographic perimeter and all offices outside the perimeter
(e.g., office buildings in the town of Los Alamos that are rented by
the Laboratory)]
- Participants in officially arranged Laboratory events (e.g., tours,
meetings, conferences, workshops) taking place exclusively in open areas
or in those property-protected areas open to the public during normal
business hours
- Official visitors, Consultants, and Guest Scientists who meet all
of the following criteria:
- are U.S. citizens
- do not hold a U.S. government clearance
- are on-site 10 days or fewer in any given calendar year
- will be in open areas or in those property-protected areas open
to the public
- will not be in any Laboratory buildings outside of normal business
hours
NOTE: Even if all of the above conditions are met by a visitor
and therefore a badge is not mandatory, it is still the option of the
visitor's Laboratory host to request the Badge Office to badge the visitor.

Badge for Uncleared U.S. Citizens.
