S-3 Badge Reader
Locations
|
Below is a list of locations for all badge reader access control systems
maintained by Group S-3 (Security Systems).
Please note the following important points:
- HAND GEOMETRY COLUMN. Any location for which the Hand Geometry
column has a Y means that access into that area requires a valid
hand geometry template be on file - enrollment of one's hand geometry
template is done at the Badge Office. Badge reader systems that require
hand geometry validation are located at all entry points from non-security
areas into security areas. Portal-type access control booths are identified
by Y-Portal.
- DATABASE CONTROLLED COLUMN. Any location for which the Database
Controlled column has a Y means that the facility owning
that area authorizes specific individuals to have access into that area.
Database controlled readers reference a Z number. If a facility wishes
to grant access to a DOE Standard badgeholder from another DOE site,
it must submit a request to assign a Z number, using Laboratory
Form 1782 (Z Number Assignment Request) to the Badge Office.
If the DOE Standard badgeholder from another DOE site does not have
a Z number, or the Z number is not included in the badge enrollment
process, the badge will not work in any database controlled readers
though the individual has been authorized for such access. Consult the
detailed procedures
for enrolling an individual in an S-3 database-controlled badge reader
system.
Note: S-3 badge readers are black, and thus can be distinguished
from Group CCN-4's
readers, which are gray.
